Agreement

These terms form an agreement between you and Monospace®, the studio that makes Pastry. By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using Pastry, you agree to these terms. If you use Pastry for an organization, you confirm that you can accept these terms on its behalf.

If you do not agree, do not use the app. Rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law are not limited by these terms.

02

Trial and purchase

Pastry includes a 7-day trial of the complete app. When the trial ends, clipboard monitoring requires a valid license key. Your local history is not deleted when the trial expires.

Pastry’s standard price is $29 for a one-time license. A limited launch offer reduces it to $19 for the first 100 completed purchases. The price and any taxes shown at checkout are the final amount; currency conversion, refunds, payment processing, and mandatory consumer rights still apply.

03

Software license

A valid purchase grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Pastry for its intended purpose. The app is licensed, not sold; Pastry and Monospace® retain all rights not expressly granted here.

You may not sell or share a license key, bypass trial or activation controls, redistribute the application as your own, or reverse engineer it except where applicable law expressly permits that activity.

04

Activation

License activation and periodic validation use Polar. The app sends the license key and a generated machine identifier to activate or validate access. The purchase email can also be associated with the local license record.

A previously valid license can continue through a limited offline grace period. Deactivating a license removes the local license record and asks the licensing service to release that activation.

05

Your content and backups

You keep ownership of everything you copy and store with Pastry. The app stores history locally and does not claim any right to use that content. You are responsible for having permission to copy, keep, transform, or share material that belongs to someone else.

Pastry includes export and deletion controls, but local-first software still depends on your Mac and your backups. Keep a separate backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.

06

Acceptable use

Do not use Pastry to violate law, another person’s rights, or the security of a system you do not own or have permission to test. Do not use the app or its update and licensing services in a way that disrupts, overloads, probes, or damages them.

You are responsible for the clips you choose to retain and paste. Sensitive-content detection is a protective aid, not a guarantee that every secret will be recognized.

07

Updates and availability

The current purchase includes updates for as long as Pastry exists. We may change, add, remove, or discontinue features when maintaining the app, macOS compatibility, security, or product quality requires it.

That promise does not guarantee a particular feature, release date, or uninterrupted availability. Some updates can require a newer supported version of macOS.

08

Third-party software and services

Pastry includes open-source components whose authors retain their own rights. Those components remain subject to their respective licenses, summarized on the Licenses page.

Purchases and license administration can involve Polar, while app updates are distributed through the release infrastructure identified by the application. Third-party services apply their own terms and privacy practices to the information they process.

09

Warranty and liability

Pastry is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that classification, sensitive-content detection, conversion, or recovery will be error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pastry and Monospace® are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, including lost data, profits, or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Pastry. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.

10

Termination and changes

These terms apply while you use Pastry. Your license can be terminated if you materially breach them; when that happens, you must stop using the app. Sections that naturally continue after termination, including ownership, warranty, and liability terms, remain effective.

We may update these terms when the product or legal requirements change. The effective date will change at the same time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where applicable law allows.
